Brides of Ollichon - Liv and Lucy
We have two beautiful brides today, we always feel so lucky when both brides choose to wear House of Ollichon, and this is no exception. There is something so romantic about them choosing their pieces together. Liv and Lucy were the epitome of romance, and couldn’t have been more in love and more supportive of each other!
How long have you been together?
On 7th July 2018 we will have been together for 4 years, but we actually met when we were 17 and dated for about 2 weeks. Then we didn’t see each other again for almost 8 years until we met one day in Brighton and the rest, as they say, is history.
Who proposed to who?
I (Liv) proposed to Lucy on Christmas Eve 2016. We had been to Copenhagen in 2015 for Valentine’s Day and put a lock on the lovers bridge there with our names on. So I found a rose gold padlock (as the engagement ring I had bought was rose gold) and locked the engagement ring on it and gave it to her as an early Christmas present.
What was your inspiration to go dress-less?
Neither of us have ever been particularly ‘girly’, and wearing a dress has never made either of us feel comfortable. I was determined to wear a jumpsuit as this style of outfit is my go-to and when I searched for ‘wedding jumpsuits’ House of Ollichon popped up and I knew instantly that I would find my outfit there. Lucy was undecided on what she wanted to wear, she was toying with the idea of a suit but it just seemed too cliché and wasn’t working. When she came to my fitting she was very drawn to House of Ollichon’s pieces.
How did you feel in your outfit?
I felt so comfortable and confident and didn’t want to take it off! Lucy hates being the centre of attention, but the outfit was so perfect for her she was able to relax and enjoy the day!
In all honesty our outfits were the best buy. We couldn’t have asked for more. Also wearing Jimmy Choo’s was a bit of a dream come true!
As we had planned the wedding so carefully with our planner, Charlotte Nichols Weddings, there wasn’t much room (or time!) for surprises. However, as our planner was also Lucy’s sister, she did manage to sneak to Spring (where we had our reception) the day before to ensure that everything was absolutely perfect, including the addition of a personalised ‘Olivia and Lucy’ journal, which the guests all used to write us a note. She also surprised us with a videographer as our wedding gift, which we are so pleased she did because, although the photographs are incredible, we are both looking forward to hearing the speeches again!
Did anything not go to plan?!
As it was so small, just 19 guests, there wasn’t a lot that could go wrong and, thankfully, it didn’t!
The whole day was the best moment, from beginning to end. It went better than either of us could have hoped for.
What did your family and friends think about your outfits?
Everyone loved our outfits. The words used were ‘elegant, chic, stunning’.
Will you wear it again?
Absolutely, I will be wearing my Drakeford Culottes at the next chance I get - I absolutely love them!
House of Ollichon is the most amazing experience. Hannah adapts to different personalities so well and knows when you’re not feeling comfortable which, in turn, makes you feel at ease. We both loved our fittings and couldn’t have been happier with our outfit choices.
I chose the Drakeford Culottes and the Le Fay Top because I felt 100% comfortable, and 100% beautiful, and suited my body shape to a T. From the moment we began discussing our outfits I said I wanted to wear something with long lace sleeves to cover my tattoos as I didn’t want them to be a main focus on the day. So the Le Fay Top was perfect. My outfit honestly couldn’t have ticked more boxes if Hannah had designed it specifically for me. Lucy wanted to remain feminine but with a slight edge, and the Lowry jumpsuit completely fitted this vision. We were able to wear outfits that made us feel like our truest selves. House of Ollichon made the day completely visually stunning and set the tone for the overall style of the wedding. We decided to shop together as we trust no one elses opinions!
