Bride of Ollichon - Suzy
Suzy and Rob planned their wedding in 4 months, for Suzy, who is known for her indecisiveness, that is pretty inspiring!!
How long have you been together?
We met six years ago on Christmas Eve 2011 in a local pub!
Who proposed to who?
Rob proposed in the Vault Bar at The Ned hotel although it wasn’t a total surprise as we had talked about it for some time (moving from if we get married to when we get married). We went to pick the ring the following day.
Where did you get married?
What was your inspiration to go dress-less?
I have always loved a jumpsuit and had been eyeing up the Clement online for some time. Given my indecisiveness I knew trying on 101 dresses to find the 'perfect' one would be a complete nightmare. We were planning a low key, relaxed wedding in London with our nearest and dearest so wanted something relaxed yet beautiful for the day. I definitely made the best decision.
How did you feel in your outfit?
Absolutely wonderful (which is very unlike me). I often feel uncomfortable and self-conscious but felt so confident in the Clement.
The jumpsuit of course. And I also wore a gold leaf headband (Gold Ivy on Alice by Stephanie Browne) which I loved.
Biggest surprise? / Did anything not go to plan?
No which was in itself the biggest surprise given we organized the wedding in just four months!
Seeing Rob at the end of the aisle. Becoming husband and wife. The food - Spanish tapas and lots of red wine. Celebrating with friends. The whole day!
What did your family and friends think about your outfit?
Some were very surprised I wore a jumpsuit but everyone made such lovely comments and said how much it suited my style. My bridesmaids wore jumpsuits too (from warehouse) so the girls definitely wore the trousers (I made sure I mentioned that in my speech!)
Will you wear it again?
I hope so. I wondered if I could have it altered to a top and trousers. I would love to wear the top with jeans to celebrate our one year anniversary!
Hannah was so lovely, personable and welcoming. Unlike other dress shops where there are restrictions on who you bring, Hannah was totally flexible. She looked gorgeous at 8 months pregnant and managed to speed up my outfit so it could be delivered in time. House of Ollichon was the first and only experience of dress shopping - after meeting her and trying on the Clement, I cancelled all other bookings. I thoroughly recommend House of Ollichon to any bride - the best decision I made.
