Bride of Ollichon - Hat
With abs this good, it would be a crime not to show them off! The amazing Hat who co-owns Crossfit Watford chose the Stevenson top and loved the Stevenson skirt but felt a little overwhelmed with all the lace...and so the Hewitt skirt was born! Same skirt, different fabric (100% silk crepe de chine) and it is a whole new world of bridal skirt! (the Hewitt is now a bonafide permanent addition to the House of Ollichon collection)
How long have you been together?
Just over 5 years
Who proposed to who?
Charlie proposed to me
Where did you get married?
Hawthbush farm in East Sussex
What was your inspiration to go dress-less?
I didn’t want something mega fancy or traditional. I like simple.
How did you hear about House of Ollichon?
I found it via Not on the high street ! Complete chance, but I literally knew right then, that was what I was going to wear (although Hannah changed the skirt I saw online to be full length which was even more perfect!)
How did you feel in your outfit?
Just perfect. I couldn’t stop smiling. I felt so happy!
Hands down my outfit.
Charlie’s speech made me cry. It was so lovely.
Did anything not go to plan?!
It was all better than I thought! We planned very little, we’re not the best planners, but my sisters and friends made it seem so enjoyable.
Saying my vows.
What did your family and friends and Charlie think about your outfit?
I heard far too many comments of ‘wow your dress!?’ to count! So I’d say they loved it :)
Will you wear it again?
I wish! I don’t think I’ll find anything to wear the skirt to. But 100% the top. I love it
Despite the top not being in my size I knew straight away I wanted that style. Now for the skirt - I tried on the Thomas and it fitted me beautifully but I wasn’t sure about the shorter length...I still wanted that ‘bride’ feel and envisaged it longer. So Hannah brought out the Stevenson. I had no real desire to wear any lace but Hannah urged me to try it on and I was curious...again the fit was lovely around my waist and the length perfect...but we all decided it wasn’t quite right.
Hannah knew what I was after and so we did the strangest thing, we put the silk skirt OVER the longer lace one to see if what we were both thinking was right for me. Would the silk skirt look just as beautiful full length.
The answer was yes. I couldn’t stop smiling-despite being in a bit of a mish mash of clothes.
And Hannah could tell. So what now?
I was completely overwhelmed when Hannah said she could make me a full length silk skirt to perfect my outfit.
I honestly thought I could cry and I am by no means a girly girl, or someone who demands anything out of the ordinary.
I felt so genuinely cared for throughout my entire appointment and I left with just one worry...could I afford this?
There was no pressure on me at all and I had made up my mind before even leaving the building. My sister said to me “Hat, you will not find another dress more you.”
Decision made. Email sent. Dream two piece on order and honestly the best decision I made regarding our beautiful country wedding.
Thank you Hannah, so very much, I loved it even when it didn’t fit me yet
