Bride of Ollichon - Becky

Posted by Abby Summerville on

It was quite a journey for Becky to visit us at the House of Ollichon studio, we are thrilled that it was worth it!  Becky wore the Torres palazzo pants and McNamara top

How long have you been together?

It's 13 years now, we were together for 11 years before I proposed.

Who proposed to who?

I proposed to Paul (on New Years' Eve 2016-17). We had a party at our house with around 20 close friends, Just after the new year celebration, I gave him a Boomf card with the message inside. He didn't realise at first!  It was funny, at the time Paul was wearing a T-Shirt with just the word, "No" written on it! He did say yes, though :)

Where did you get married?

Curradine Barns in Shrawley (Gorgeous) - it's a wonderful barn conversion venue, with an outdoor Pizza oven (yum) and it had the option for us to get married outdoors - it's what I wanted, and it was a beautiful day, so I got what I wanted.

What was your inspiration to go dress-less?

I've never been a dress person, I've never felt comfortable. Hence, for my wedding day I really wanted to feel comfortable in what I was wearing.

How did you feel in your outfit?

Perfect, completely comfortable, amazing, wonderful! I was complimented all day long, it made me feel a million dollars.

Best buy?

That'a a tough one... for the wedding itself, the best value for money was the wedding cake. We had a beautiful 2 tier cake, with avatars of us, the kids and the cat, plus 150 cupcakes of various flavours, all for £500 !!!

Biggest surprise?

How swimmingly well everything went on the day (including all the international visitors - we had 3 sets of friends from the USA and Paul's relatives from Australia came, too).

Did anything not go to plan?!

There were a few drunk people at the end of the night, but I wouldn't say that wasn't planned! ;)

We ended up with loads of people in our honeymoon suite after the party had finished because they hadn't pre-ordered taxis - so there was an impromptu party until around 2am, which was fabulous fun (lots of Fizz and fun).

Best moment?

Seeing our girls in their outfits, having the best day of their lives, too. I loved the speeches, too, and the fact that we had everyone who is close to us in the room, all at once.

What did Paul, your family and friends think about your outfit?

Everyone was completely blown away with the outfit - many people commented on how gorgeous it looked, nothing like a 'normal' trouser dress, and how perfect a match it was for me. I stayed in it all day, through the after party, too, I didn't want to take it off!

Will you wear it again?

Probably not, but you never know.

I want to say how wonderful it was, from the first moment of going to meet Hannah - this was when I felt most apprehensive. I'd already phoned many places who told me they only offered dresses. When I researched on the internet, I found House of Ollichon - London was a big journey, but when I walked into the studio I immediately knew I'd made the right decision and felt completely at home. Hannah was so warm and chatty, I felt great from the offset. She seemed to know exactly what I wanted. When I left, I knew that she would deliver exactly what I wanted for the day. Ordering, paying, all of the aspects were all really easy, and the outfit that was delivered was more than I'd ever dreamed of. Thank you so much for your help.
