Bride of Ollichon - Alex
Alex absolutely rocked the Thomas skirt and top for her civil ceremony...wore it again for the evening festivities of the bigger celebrations and wore the top AGAIN on her honeymoon....this is why we do everything we can to design our pieces to be worn again!
A family friend for many years, Hannah was so thrilled to dress Alex for her civil ceremony!
How long have you been together?
4 1/2 years
Who proposed to who?
Nick proposed to me. He pretended we were having a Christmas day out and then took me for a champagne breakfast at The Shard where I had taken him for one of our first dates.
Where did you get married?
We were lucky enough to do it twice! A small civil ceremony at Mayfair Registry Office followed by a family lunch and cocktails on the South Bank. Then the main event was a festival style wedding on a small island at Nick’s Mum’s home in Leicestershire.
What was your inspiration to go dress-less?
How did you hear about House of Ollichon?
Hannah is a close family friend!
How did you feel in your outfit?
I loved loved loved it. I loved the way it moved and couldn’t stop twirling and moving in it... so much so I decided to wear it again in the evening of the big day.
Of course it was my outfit, I can’t thank Hannah enough for helping me with it.
Probably that I didn’t cry... I am usually very emotional and even cried writing my vows. Instead I just couldn’t stop smiling. I was the happiest I’ve ever been. Also my Dad secretly set up a snow machine on the dance floor and put it on late into the evening which was great fun...
Did anything not go to plan?!
The weather on the day of our Civil Service was biblical rainfall! It did however make for some great photographs as we made our way, umbrellas in hand, from Mayfair to the South Bank.
I don’t know if I can pick one.. walking down the aisle and seeing Nick, getting ready with my girls, dancing the night away just to name a few but walking through London in my House of Ollichon outfit was pretty special. Passers by clapped, a group of tourists stopped and cheered us on and commuters gave up their seats on the tube so our whole wedding party could sit together.
What did your family and friends and other half think about your outfit?
They loved it as much as I did. Nick knew I was wearing a House of Ollichon outfit and presumed I would be in a jumpsuit as I love a jumpsuit. So he was surprised when I was wearing a skirt. Even the Registrar commented on how unique it was and wanted to know more about where it was from!
Will you wear it again?
I already have! I wore the top on our honeymoon with a more casual skirt!
I had such an amazing experience with House of Ollichon. I had such fun trying on my outfit and Hannah made me feel so special. I would recommend them to any bride who wants something unique and different for their special day!
