Bride of Ollichon - Lynne
Lynne rocked her Yorath jumpsuit for their chilled out celebration on the waterfront in Portsmouth. Here's her lovely story.
"My husband Paul proposed on Valentines Day 2016. I got up and he had tied my engagement ring round a bottle of champagne, he just stood there looking at me and I ended up asking him (because it was a leap year he said!) and that was all there was to it really!
I heard that some registry offices are a bit grim, but Portsmouth's Registry Office is really lovely and is gorgeous outside for photos. We didn't have an official photographer, we asked Paul's brother if he could take quite a lot as he has the fanciest camera! We were really trying to cut down on costs. You get many people at weddings taking photos anyway and I hate posing!
After the Registry Office we went straight to our wedding party (we called it a party because we thought 'reception' was too formal a word to use) at the Bridge Tavern, which is based at Old Portsmouth, a gorgeous area of Portsmouth, by the sea. We fed everyone paella and a hog roast. We also had a music system set up and a fab playlist which I spent months working on!!
Wearing a bridal jumpsuit was the first thing I thought of when we started to plan our wedding. I just wanted something different and it was the second time around for me (and Paul!). Our wedding was very laid back; we didn't have any speeches, no table plans, no expensive flowers, no wedding cars etc. I found House of Ollichon when I googled 'wedding jumpsuits'.
My hubby thought the jumpsuit was great! I did initially set my sights on the Le Fay, but the Yorath won!
My bridesmaid (now my step-daughter!), is 12, and she wore a dress from Miss Selfridge which cost £31 in the sale! She hates wearing dresses, we didn't want to make her wear a "traditional" bridesmaid one and we just wanted her to be happy on the day! Oh, and she wore Converse with the dress too (which made her even happier!).
We didn't have an official "first dance" but the first dance song we played was Artic Monkeys 'I bet that you look good on the dance floor'! We also walked down the aisle to 'Baby I'm Yours' by the Artic Monkeys. In a nutshell, we just wanted to keep our wedding as simple as possible, surrounded by family and friends we were closest to.
I would just like to say that I loved wearing my jumpsuit and can't thank Hannah enough for making my experience of finding a wedding outfit so great. I would definitely recommend House of Ollichon to anyone looking for something different to wear on their wedding day, at a reasonable cost and who are looking for an extremely friendly, professional, first class service!"
