Bride of Ollichon - Finola

Posted by Hannah Ollichon on

Some clients' weddings become very close to your heart for one reason or another and Finola's was most definitely one of those. I have never met anyone going through such a difficult balance of emotion in one period of their life. The joy of your imminent wedding day while preempting the sadness of losing your Mum, the excitement of marrying your best friend while wishing, as each day passes, that your other best friend actually gets to see you walk down the aisle. Fin, you are an incredible woman, you have shown me a level of grace, strength and positivity I have never seen before. Thank you and I wish you the most wonderful marriage and a life full of happiness.

How long have you been together?

We have been together for 5 years.

Where did you meet?

We went to school together but hadn’t seen each other for over ten years since leaving school.

We met in a bar in Godalming whilst we were both out with friends. It wasn’t the most romantic of meetings; I was very, very drunk. I won’t go into details….

Where did you get married?

We got married at Clock Barn Hall in Hambledon Surrey. We wanted to get married where we had both grown up.

What was your inspiration to go dress-less?

I am just not a dress girl. I never have been. I did not even consider looking at any dresses.

How did you feel in your outfit?

I felt amazing. It made me feel sexy and confident and it fitted like a glove. I could not have been happier. I wish I could wear it everyday.

Best buy?

I was very lucky that my friend designed and made my bespoke jewellery as a wedding gift and my shoes I already had in my cupboard so my best buy would have to be my bespoke ‘Kay’. I will never regret it.

Biggest surprise?

The biggest surprise on the day was the best surprise. Unfortunately, my Mum was extremely unwell and in the months leading up to the wedding it looked very unlikely she would be with us. The best surprise was she made it, and she was there to see us marry. Sadly, she passed away recently and I will forever cherish that she saw me (us) get married.

What did you family and friends think about your outfit?

They all loved it and people are still complimenting me on it. I don’t think anyone was surprised to see me in a jumpsuit rather than a dress, but they all commented on how beautiful it was and how well it fitted me.

Will you wear your jumpsuit again?

Yes, most definitely. But not to anyone else’s wedding!

Where do I start? From the very first meeting with Hannah at the Hoxton Hotel, I knew I’d found what I had been looking for. My bespoke experience with House of Ollichon and more importantly Hannah was absolutely amazing.

She truly is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met and had the pleasure of working with. There is nothing else like House of Ollichon out there! Working with Hannah to create a bespoke piece was an amazing experience and a lot of fun. She is open to all suggestions and has amazing ideas, nothing was too much hassle, and I simply love her. For example, I wasn’t able to make it up to London for one of our appointments. Hannah very kindly came down to Godalming to my parents house instead meaning my Mum was able to meet her and also be included in the fitting process (sadly, she had not been well enough to come with me to London). This meant and still means the absolute world to me and is a memory I will treasure forever. I do not have a negative word to say. I wish I could do it all again.

Hannah, thank you! You are one amazing lady and great friend.
